“Samanwaya” – Climate-Resilient Livelihoods Awareness and Networking Fair

DRCSC, Kolkata, organized “Samanwaya”, a Climate-Resilient Livelihoods Awareness and Networking Fair, on 2 June 2026 in Suri, Birbhum, and 4 June 2026 in Berhampore, Murshidabad. The event aimed to promote sustainable agriculture and strengthen community awareness on climate change adaptation, food security, nutrition, and resilient livelihoods.

As part of its ongoing work with marginalized, smallholder, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and minority communities, DRCSC showcased practical examples of climate-resilient farming and livelihood initiatives through more than 50 exhibition stalls. The exhibits highlighted indigenous seeds, biodiversity conservation, neglected food plants, livestock and fisheries, renewable energy, traditional knowledge, and sustainable livelihood practices.

The fair brought together over 500 participants, including farmers, women, youth, students, teachers, social workers, and community leaders. Distinguished government officials, agricultural scientists, academicians, legislators, and representatives from NABARD also attended the programme
